Gimp2, Paint 3D, MyPaint, Sketchbook, recently Krita. There's FireAlpaca that I plan on using for animating now. The Animations pane at the right shows all the animations on the slide. Click the icon in the top-right to enlarge the image. Here we have tools like the G Pen, Mapping Pen, Ink Brush, and over 50 other brushes that illustrators and manga artists will find useful. I was tempted to draw scales, but with the original picture being only 1024x1024 pixels, any size of large scales wouldn't be very neat, and since I resized the image to upload here, I just don't want to go back and add scales and likely not finish them. FINISHED! But more interestingly enough, I did something that doesn't have fur. You can later vary the glowiness via layer modes or more more different colours/opacity changes. This took a little less than 5 hours, really only about 4 with the time it took to download, searching for a reference image, and just taking short 3-5 minute breaks. Check the Protect Alpha box for the eye white layer (under layer modes in the layer panel) if you want to change the colour of the glow later as well, so this way you can just select the colour and Fill via the Insert button on your keyboard. ![]() I've only ever done a glowing effect in FireAlpaca and it was very basic. Then, I got serious and looked for tutorials and decided to learn how to make a glowing effect. I do not know what inspired this piece, but I did get Paint Tool Sai and quickly updated to Paint Tool Sai 2 and the first thing I did was draw a couple of stick figures in a strange little scene. In this case, Lens Blur (go to Filter > Lens Blur with FireAlpaca) is more suitable. ![]()
